14- Mr Bear and the pursuit of ad-free entertainment

In this episode of The Grumpy Old Bears podcast show, we discuss the nature of a “fun” podcast show that will serve as comedy or just a good time for both the creators and listeners both. We also then go into the winding down of the sham-demic (or planned-demic or scam-demic — call it what you will), and how Mr. Bear will enjoy going out again and being grumpy about everything.

So, in this present day of extremism and hateful narratives from the radical left, Mr. Bear is sticking to his grumpiness in moving along with the seasons. He is currently in the Southern California area and does not see anything but cool and cold mornings — and in his narrow view, he foresees nothing but the lack of warmth and heat of a good summer time.

Now, the last thing that Mr. Bear wants to deal with is the current tide of the narrative of news coming from the lame-stream media. He is tired of hearing the narratives of the situation in Ukraine and all the political debates. All he sees in his narrow world is that inflation is on the rise, and because he cannot afford the price of gasoline for transportation, he has no way to travel in any way, shape or form. So thus, when asked about the present situation, all he has to say is “Let’s go, Brandon.”

His recent introduction to the world of large-screen television and the free channels available on the fire-stick have made him an expert in the area of channel surfing with his remote controls.

The one thing that turns him off is, at this time, the lame-stream media narratives and the woke-based commercials. That is why he has a secondary outlet — he loves the Turner Classic Movie channel (for which he had to pay), since woke-based commercials have not arrived, as the only ads are those from TCM itself. And he really enjoys the movie selections for one basic reason — NO ADS OR COMMERCIALS during the movies.

This became explicitly clear when he saw a replay on YouTube of the musical for television of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (from 1965). His enjoyment was dulled by the woke commercials and ads — and that drove him back to the TCM channel, where although he has little choice on what to see at what times, he is grateful for no interruptions in the movies that are shown.

We thank you for following along with this story of Mr. Ted E. Bear, and we hope to get our co-host back to give you some more enjoyment to this show. However, it is very doubtful if we see his return to the microphone again soon.

So at this time, we will see you again next time (Hmphh!).

Thank you for your attention.
